FINAL - PROJECT OF CHOICE

The Studio I Final Artwork was a choice project so students could fill in gaps in their portfolios.  They could select any media and genre used this semester.

Students needed to exhibit:

  • At least 50% of the final composition shows form.
  • Include good range of value.
  • Emphasis and Unity present.

Students also needed to identify three techniques they used specific to the media they chose.

KENT BELLOWS

I think my pictures have stories behind them, but I like to leave a feeling of openness. I hope that things keep going in the viewer’s mind. There’s nothing more boring than a story too quickly told. Once all the elements of a story are nailed down, the viewer is left with nothing but the artist’s technique.” –Kent Bellows

Select a portrait by Bellows and comment on it in relation to his quote above.
